Generally a weight loss bootcamp is a term to describe the activities that are taken by personal trainers, gyms, and veterans to educate the people for living a healthy life.This process has been gaining momentum since the past few years.


A Fat Camp program usually involves running, interval training, and other such similar exercises required to loose body weight,increase strength,enhance cardiovascular function and help individual into regular exercising.Many programs also educate the mass about proper nutrition.The term Boot Camp is derived from the fact it invoves group of people starting from two to four.

"Weight Loss BootCamp is simply is described as a process in which a group of people come together and practise some outdoor physical exercise to achieve a common goal resulting in weight loss.They are focussed to take activities that are a bit more tiring out than would be in a gym.The exercises are planned and arranged outdoors like in a park and include squats, push ups,suspension training,along with running and competitive games.The theory is to involve everyone in the process at their own pace.

Fat camps provide an atmosphere of friendship to the participating members who would otherwise get bored up in a gym and discontinue their routine of exercise. Gradually the participants socialize and fullfil their objective.These boot camps usually run for between 4-6 weeks.

Mainly done outdoors the programs include jogging, plyometrics, sprinting, squats, push-ups, pull-ups, lunges, suspension training and various other calisthenic exercises. The advantage of a boot camp is that the team spirit will usually encourage the participants. Other advantages are it makes the mental health positive and assists in lowering high blood pressure, hypertension, and stress.

The weight loss boot camps also facilitate special dietary program along with the exercises perticularly tailored for individuals who want to lose weight and who may have minor injuries or physical limitations.

For persons who are habituated to having unhealthy eating habits & lifestyles, the boot camps would be the first step towards fitness. The boot camps work like a body transition which would aid to observe the food habits for better living

A big number of boot camp training sessions are organised to burn fat, tone muscles and build strength which give to a usual day at the fitness retreat.On the other hand training classes include nutrition based sessions, meetings with fitness trainers, therapists and nutritionists, custom-made meals etc.

The main goAl during the boot camp is to make the participants lose their extra weights as much as possible. Depending upon the one's requirements and aims, the duration of the stay would extend from one week to sixteen weeks.
