While designing ready-made dresses, it is a fact that more focus is given to feminine gender generally. But it does not mean men are left out totally from the designer dress market. The cuts and stitches for men’s wear are often repeated into the style of Coat-Suit, and you can say the entire European market for this category of dresses is monotonously boring. There is not much scope to show different talents in cutting and stitching. But the popular North Indian style of Sherwanis is an exemplary exception.

To fully understand the background of these men’s dress material and design, you have to go back into the history of ancient India. As you might be aware already, India was a country ruled by Maharajas (Kings), prior to the British rule three hundred years back. While the peasants and ordinary citizens wore common dresses, made of cotton in those days, Kings and Nobles, owing to their wealthy status, showed off their social status by wearing ostensible dresses made of pure silk, which were very costly ever and even today.

Traditional Sherwanis are symbols of Royal splendor, worn by Maharajas daily and Nobles and Courtiers of the King wore them frequently, though not daily. Sherwani is a long coat for men, and an outfit best suited for pajamas or dhotis worn beneath it. There is tremendous scope for the artists in embellishing the Sherwani, with innumerable decorations, embroidery by yarn or stones, sequin dress work and a lot more. The accessories that go with Sherwani are Cravats (Long towels), Scarves made of silk or linen material and a Turban on the head, which is also an artifact of its own, by the designs.

With such a full traditional dress, every man will look like a Maharaja and this is the reason why Bridegrooms – the center of attraction in every marriage – are dressed as above in North Indian marriages. Even people who are not that rich will wear it for their ceremonious marriage. UK being a country worshiping the Royal Family and its traditions has always a fancy for looking majestically in this dress. That’s how you have many shops advertising Designer Sherwanis London – online and offline.

If you search for Sherwanis online, you will be amazed with the numerous designs, colours, models and types of Traditional as well as Modern-look Sherwanis, offered for sale. Each piece is exquisite in its making, with artistic decoration that the younger generation falls for this Indian style dress madly. Especially during occasions and get-together parties, males wearing Designer Sherwanis will look totally different, among the crowd and so can attract others’ attention easily. Any male member, including children of school-going age can wear this and look very attractive.

Now that the popularity of Sherwanis spreading like wild-fire, among the British and other alien countries, who says Sherwanis are reserved for North Indians only?
